ಅರರೆ ಪರಶಿವನ ಶಿರದ ಮೇಲಣ ಬಾಲಚಂದ್ರನಿಂದು
ಕುವರನಾಗಿ ಹರಜಟಾಜೂಟದೊಳಗಾಡುತಿಹನೊ ಇಂತು|
ಹೋಲಿಕಾದಹನಧೂಮ ಹಬ್ಬಿಹುದೆ ವ್ಯೋಮವನ್ನು ತುಂಬಿ
ಅಲ್ಲ ರಕ್ಕಸರು ಗುಂಪುಗಟ್ಟಿಹರೊ ಮಧುಪಾತ್ರೆಯೆಂದು ನಂಬಿ?|| 

 

Is bAlacandra, the ornament of lord Shiva, grown up and playing amidst the tangled hair of Shiva? 

Is the sky covered by the smoke that rose from the hOlikAdahana? 

Or are they Asuras who gathered around the moon, thinking that it is the bowl of wine?
